Matthew Rosetti

As a young boy growing up, Matthew Rosetti spent a great deal of time on his maternal grandparents’ farm in Clovis, California. Little did he know, how much of an influence his Grandma and Grandpa Sorrenti would have in shaping his life’s path. Out in the field, Matthew gained the values of hard work, responsibility, and dedication. Inside his grandparents’ home, Matthew discovered food was the magic that brought family together- to love and to share. One of Matthew’s most impressionable childhood memories was racing into his grandmother’s kitchen, heading straight to the corner cupboard to reach high for a large, red coffee tin. Inside this tin was Matthew’s favorite treat, biscotti! These hand rolled and sliced traditional Italian cookies were baked year-round for all to enjoy. Today, Matthew is busy baking biscotti- just like Grandma- using the highest quality ingredients, including premium family grown almonds. This commitment to excellence is Matthew’s way of honoring his grandparents, who lovingly ignited a lifelong passion to craft a cherished Italian delicacy.

A mother’s influence on a young child is often not fully realized until many years have passed. Such is truly the case for the talented Ali Banks, Culinary Director of Chopt Salad and Dos Toros (Founders Table Restaurant Group). Claudio Rezende grew up working in his family's bakery in Brazil. Following his college graduation, Rezende immigrated to the United States and continued his craft by joining Acme Bread founders, Steven and Suzie Sullivan, in their quest to bake better bread. Elisia Otavi, owner and chocolatier for Raphio was initially inspired by her desire to develop a healthy treat for her two young sons. So with a goal to produce a less sugary alternative, Elisia delved into research revealing how a childhood favorite, chocolate could be made from pure ingredients. In particular, by eliminating additives and artificial flavoring commonly used in industrial chocolate making, Elisia is able to handcraft a wholesome indulgence for all to savor, including her two sons, Raphael and Rio.
